About this blog
I’m Ian. I’m 57 and live in the West Midlands of the UK with my wife, Ronnie. I have two adult children, Rob and Becky, along with their partners and four grandsons.
I used to enjoy travelling, gardening, and hiking. Since becoming more unwell I’ve had to give these up, but still enjoy my other pleasures including writing, food, reading and just being with people, all when I have the energy.
For twenty years I’ve been doing my best to follow Jesus. I believe in a loving, gracious and merciful God. I’ve spent enough time in hell to realise I don’t want to stay there.
I’m not as well as I used to be. I have a severe mental illness known as Borderline Personality Disorder, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Heart Disease for which I had a bypass.
I worked in retailing for 25 years and the NHS for 7 years. I have retired now due to ill health, and in my retirement I’ve studied horticulture, counselling and volunteered as a hospital chaplain. I am now virtually housebound.
